Approach and works on display
Navigating between the themes of memory and nostalgia, Andrée-Anne Mercier’s approach explores our daily lives as the origin of pictorial creation. Exploring these fundamental themes for each individual, she creates atmospheres that magnify individual and collective memories. In the form of a construction site, a production of two-dimensional paintings, 3D digital explorations, video games and installations come together. The artist seeks to create spaces from which aesthetic compositions emerge. By taking elements of the everyday, she analyzes and reuses these components to create pictorial and accessible projects. The mediums of creation chosen are questioned by their paradox; fine arts and digital arts reviving a current dialogue in the age of technology. The hybrid and playful associations between the different themes and visuals that populate the artist’s works offer a space for accessible dialogue between memory and nostalgia.
